Heat Resistant Alloys
UNS S66286 A-286 Alloy
UNS S66286 stainless steel is a precipitation hardening alloy that maintains superior strength even at temperatures as high as 700℃. It provides more nickel than Type 304, further strengthened by the addition of titanium and aluminum. Through age hardening, it precipitates Ni3 (Al, Ti) γ' phase, making it an excellent choice for use in high-temperature applications.
Weldability
For superior performance on S66286 thin sheets, our Spot, TIG, MIG and Shield Metal Arc Welding services provide dependable results, similar to those seen on austenitic stainless steels. Enjoy reliable welds every time.
Heat Treatment
S66286 is a precipitation hardening alloy designed to achieve maximum strength through aging following solution heat treatment. It is a reliable choice for applications requiring a highly resistant material.
Our high-performance solution heat treating solution ensures that parts remain at precise temperatures for optimal strength and durability. With oil or water cooling, or even air cooling for thinner metal parts, it is important to maintain a suitable temperature and holding time for aging to reach the required strength.
Machinability
S66286 is an austenitic stainless steel, providing superior machining potential compared to standard models. We recommend using a sintered carbide tool and following a slower feed rate and deeper cuts for optimal results.
