Product Description

Non-magnetic drill pipes are supporting equipment for measurement while drilling (MWD) in directional drilling. They serve to reduce external interference on MWD devices, transmit signals, convey power media for downhole motors, and transfer power from drilling rigs. As a key component of underground directional drilling tools in coal mines, they feature low magnetic permeability, high tensile strength, and excellent torsional resistance. They provide a non-magnetic environment free from magnetic interference of drilling tools for downhole measurement systems, ensuring that the magnetic field at the probe is nearly equal to the nearby Earth’s magnetic field. This allows for accurate identification of the borehole’s geomagnetic direction and guarantees the measurement accuracy of the system.
  1. Non-magnetic property: Possesses non-magnetic characteristics with a magnetic permeability of ≤1.005;
  2. High safety performance: No sparks are generated during impact or friction;
  3. High tensile strength and torsional resistance: Tensile strength ≥1035MPa, yield strength ≥965MPa;
  4. Good plasticity: The elongation at break is 2-5 times that of beryllium copper, fully meeting the level of grade 135 steel;
  5. Corrosion resistance: Has strong anti-corrosion performance and adaptability to downhole environments, capable of operating in high-corrosion acidic environments containing hydrogen sulfide.
Non-magnetic drill pipes are mainly used in horizontal directional drilling systems for underground coal mine roadways.
