Non-Magnetic Measuring Probe Outer Tube

To ensure as much as possible that the downhole measurement probe is in an undisturbed non-magnetic environment, non-magnetic drill pipes are connected to both the front and rear ends of the probe. The non-magnetic probe outer tube is made of non-magnetic steel, featuring low magnetic permeability, high tensile strength, and excellent torsional resistance. It provides a non-magnetic environment free from magnetic interference of drilling tools for the downhole measurement system, ensuring that the magnetic field at the probe is almost equal to the nearby Earth’s magnetic field. This enables accurate identification of the borehole’s geomagnetic direction and guarantees the measurement accuracy of the system.
  1. Non-magnetic property: Possesses non-magnetic characteristics with a magnetic permeability of ≤1.005;
  2. High safety performance: No sparks are generated during impact or friction;
  3. High tensile strength and torsional resistance: Tensile strength ≥1035MPa, yield strength ≥965MPa;
  4. Good plasticity: The elongation at break is 2-5 times that of beryllium copper, fully reaching the level of grade 135 steel;
  5. Corrosion resistance: Has strong anti-corrosion performance and adaptability to downhole environments, capable of operating in high-corrosion acidic environments containing hydrogen sulfide.
The non-magnetic drill pipe measurement probe outer tube is mainly used in conjunction with measurement probes.
