Specification, Chemical & Mechanical Performance
Chemical Composition
Carbon (C): 0.54% to 0.64%
Silicon (Si): 1.5% to 2.0%
Manganese (Mn): 0.6% to 1.0%
Sulfur (S) and phosphorus (P): both ≤ 0.035%
The content of alloying elements such as chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), and copper (Cu) is relatively low (such as Cr ≤ 0.35%).
Physical and Mechanical Properties
Density: 7.85 g/cm ³
Elastic modulus: approximately 210 GPa
Tensile strength: ≥ 1570 MPa (quenched and tempered state)
Yield strength: ≥ 1375 MPa (quenched and tempered state)
Has high elastic limit, tempering stability, and good hardenability (critical quenching diameter for oil cooling is about 37-73mm), but has a high tendency for decarburization.
Main Purpose
Application areas:
Widely used in the manufacturing of springs and elastic components in high stress and high vibration environments, such as leaf springs, coil springs, safety valve springs for automobiles and trains, as well as heat-resistant springs with working temperatures ≤ 250 ° C.
Typical scenarios:
Heavy/medium-sized automobile leaf springs, railway vehicle springs, flat springs that bear large loads in construction machinery, and important springs under alternating loads.
Extended applications:
structural components such as ships, railways, bridges, pressure vessels, and machine tools.
