Specification, Chemical & Mechanical Performance
Chemical Composition (weight percentage)
Carbon (C): 0.37% to 0.44%Silicon
(Si): 0.17% to 0.37%
Manganese(Mn): 0.50% to 0.80%
Chromium (Cr): 0.80% to 1.10%
Phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S): both ≤ 0.035%
Physical Property
Tensile strength: ≥ 980MPa (after quenching and tempering treatment)
Yield strength: ≥ 785MPa
Hardness (quenched and tempered state): approximately 207HBW (25mm specimen)
Resilience: Good low-temperature impact toughness, low notch sensitivity
Hardenability: With the addition of chromium element, the hardenability is better than that of ordinary carbon steel
Main Purpose
1. Mechanical manufacturing: used to manufacture parts such as gears, shafts, connecting rods, and pin shafts that can withstand moderate loads and speeds, and have high hardness and wear resistance after quenching and tempering treatment.
2. Automotive industry: used for key components such as steering knuckles and rear axles, balancing strength and heat resistance.
3. Petroleum and Chemical Industry: Suitable for corrosion-resistant and high-temperature resistant pipeline and pressure vessel components.
4. Machine tools and ships: used for manufacturing machine tool spindles, crankshafts, and ship structural components to meet long-term stability requirements under alternating loads.
5. Surface treatment application: After high-frequency quenching or carbonitriding treatment, the surface wear resistance can be improved, and it is used for parts such as gears and sleeves that require high surface hardness.
