Acier rapide ASTM T2 (UNS T12002)

ASTM/AISI T2 high speed steel is a Tungsten High Speed Steel grade Tool Steel in specification of ASTM A600. ASTM A600 standard covers tungsten-type and molybdenum-type high-speed steels used primarily in the fabrication of tools. There are seven types of tungsten high-speed tool steels designated T1, T2, T4, T5, T6, T8 and T15 etc.

AISI T2 high speed steel is an air-hardening medium alloy tool steel that has wear resistance intermediate between the high carbon chromium tool steels and oil hardening tool steels. But it offers good toughness and exhibits minimal distortion on hardening.

5: Forge de l'acier rapide ASTM T2

Soak AISI T2 tool steel for 1 hour at 2150 F (1177℃) prior to forging.

Do not work below 1850 F (1010℃). Post-work solution treatment is required prior to final hardening.

7.Applications of ASTM/AISI T2 High Speed Steel

AISI T2 high speed steel are mainly used in high speed tool and cutting applications such as drills, milling processes, reamers, etc. Some typical applications of T2 tool steel are as below:
