It is a high manganese austenitic stainless steel with a 17Cr-17Mn-7.3Ni composition. Featuring improved workability, It was developed by softening the conventional nonmagnetic austenitic stainless steel. It can be supplied in plate, sheet and strip forms.
It provides corrosion resistance equal to standard austenitic stainlesssteel Type 304. Corrosion resistance is virtually unchanged even after heavy coldworking.
The hot and cold workability is basically the same as that of standardaustenitic stainless steels such as Type 304, Type 316, etc. However, thefact that this is a high strength material must be considered in both cold and hotworking.
